Approximately 380 hectares of Galbena de Odobesti are cultivated in Romania. The variety is particularly important in Vrancea, within the wider Moldova wine region, where it forms part of a centuries-old tradition of vine growing and wine production.

Its strongest association remains with Odobesti, where local soils and climatic conditions favour wines with freshness, moderate body and a distinctive aromatic character. White flowers and ripe yellow fruits are typical, sometimes accompanied by citrus, apricot and subtle honeyed notes.

The variety's natural acidity also makes it suitable for sparkling wine production, where freshness and aromatic delicacy can contribute to lively and balanced styles.
